Restored Carpenter's Workbench

This would make an amazing kitchen island or bar! This workbench is made by Hofmann & Hammer, a German bench maker since 1924 and it comes from the home of a master furniture maker. The top includes a traditional recessed carpenter's tray. The removable bottom rack will hold pots, pans, wine or tools and can be positioned at mid-height or on the bottom frame. The drawer has two blacksmith made nails on each side, on which pans or tools could hang, and the pans will slide out when the drawer is opened. It has a custom spring-loaded safety pin to keep the drawer from fully sliding out if a little one pulls on it. 

It is still completely functional as a woodworking workbench. It was improved by adding a sliding jack that a woodworker would use to support a long board of varying widths. Woodworkers rate modern H & H benches as "best buy". Simply maintain by adding oil or wax as needed. Absolutely amazing piece!!
